Monterey in Style

 Dave did it again.  

He managed to set up a sweet gig for the family to enjoy a little getaway in Monterey for a couple of days on the hospital tab while he helped at an Ultrasound conference for a few hours.

We stayed at The Clement Monterey...a gorgeous hotel on the water that I wish I could live in someday!

It had been raining for quite a while in Palo Alto and our little house was feeling so damp and dark, so it was a heavenly to be in a place with Central Air, a big beautiful bathroom with a heater :)

(we have been surprised how cold we feel here with the humidity and single-pane windows in this old house)

this was the funniest pool--just a long, skinny rectangle against a large wall but it did the job and the kids were so happy to be swimming again!

Even mom got in the water this time...

and little Mia couldn't resist either.  her suite didn't fit her, so she swam in her diaper and onesie-- kinda ghetto, but we were the only ones there :)

While Dave was at the Conference we visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium...I'm SO GLAD we bought a membership when we first moved here because we have definitely taken advantage of this amazing place-- the kids LOVE touching the BAT RAYS

we had a fun evening at Dennis the Menace Park...

and then walked over to the beach so Mia could talk to the birds...

We ended the night at The Turtle Bay Taqueria and I had the best shrimp tostada and chips and salsa!

Mia was asleep at dinner, so she was pampered with dinner in her bath and I'm sure she could get used to this life at The Clement too!
