update on baby and me...

Thank you for your sympathy from my last post. The last few days have been much better and I just had to have that little venting session, but things are all good now.
I realized that I haven't really done an update on here about the baby/me so I thought I'd share...

Last Monday, the 19th (over a week-and-a-half ago) I had a dr. appt. and found out that I was dilated to 3cm and 80 % effaced! I was stoked and got thinking that this baby was going to come really soon and was just waiting for my water to break, some contractions, or something....but nothing ever happened!! I think that is why I had a bad day and just have been a little on edge because I kept thinking something was going to happen and it didn't and I was just tired of thinking about it.
I had an appt. scheduled for wednesday, yesterday, but didn't even think I would make it to that, but I did. So, yesterday I went in and my doc said I was at 4cm and the baby is very low, with the head down in position so he thinks it will be anytime. I didn't take it so much to heart this time, but was still excited to hear that things are progressing. He said he would induce me if I want as early as next Tuesday (if I am still pregnant then) so I made an appt. for Monday and we will see if anything happens over the weekend and if not, we will make plans on Monday of when to have this baby.
My ideal date would be May 8th because Dave is off for 5 days starting that day and the kids both have events at school on the 5th and 6th that I want to be at, but I'm not sure my doctor wants to plan an induction for Saturday...actually I'm sure he doesn't, especially because he is Jewish too, but we will see. So, I could just wait and not be induced, but then I have the whole issue of wanting deliver at North Shore Hospital, and if I just wait to go naturally my doctor may be over at the other hospital (LIJ) and then I would either have to go to him over there or have a different doctor at North Shore.
So, I guess my plan is just to wait and see if anything happens this weekend and if not we will see how my appt. goes on Monday and decided what to do from there.
I CANNOT wait to meet this little babe and find out if he is a he or if she is a she :) Most people think I am having a boy when they look at me...I guess the way i'm carrying etc. but who really knows! Zanna and James are very excited to meet and take care of the baby too and we are just all counting down! It has been a while since we've had a little newborn around and it has been really fun to get out our baby stuff, go thru our baby clothes and get things somewhat set up, even though we will be moving in about 8 weeks (a whole other issue :)!
Anyway, thank for thinking of us and we will keep you posted...

Here are some pictures from my very fun baby shower a couple of weeks ago. My friends and ward ladies were so sweet to do this for me and we had a great time eating all the delicious food and celebrating this little baby... good times!

my silly hat that kept falling off
the whole gang at Lourdes' house
my 1st counselor and secretary in Relief Society...such wonderful ladies!
rachel, me, gabby, cindy and jamie
elizabeth, ana and lourdes
playing a little game-- Julie was loving it!
gender-neutral stuff is so much cuter than it used to be... I was spoiled with some really cute clothes, blankets, towels, bibs, socks, a great bouncy chair, onesies, gift cards and a sling-- so nice!
I love the concentration on Cindy's face of how Rachel made the sling :)
testing out the sling with Zanna's baby doll
delicious Costco chocolate cake--my favortie :)
Lourdes and Raegan-- the girls behind the party planning-- THANK YOU!!!!
check out this darling white-chocolate baby bottle filled with jelly bellys...a lady in my ward made this and gave me whole bag of cute baby chocolates too- so yummy!
The morning after the shower Zanna, James and I reopened everything so they could see what we got for the baby. Zanna was so excited and helped me organize it all...she is going to be such a great helper!

blah, blah day

today is a blah day...

My allergies were awful this morning and I almost rubbed my eyes off.
Zanna is home sick from school,
she keeps wanting to lay by me, which was fun at first, but I am getting claustrophobic!
The kids won't let me be in a room by myself for more than two minutes.
Zanna dropped a water globe toy in her room so I had to clean up all the glass, water and glitter.
While cleaning up the glass, I discovered there were dead ladybugs and flies behind the stuffed animals on the window sill and it led to a vacuuming, dusting, cleaning frenzy in their room, which was good, but now my back is killing me after all that bending and lifting.
I am HUNGRY and tired of being hungry.
I need to go make dinner for all three of us and have no motivation or idea of what to make.
Dave will be home around 8:30pm and I hope I make it 'til then.

I am READY to have this baby and am getting the grumpies!

Hopefully tomorrow will be better after another restless night's sleep...

Rachel and friends...

Dave's lil' sister Rachel and her friend Megan came to visit for a few days to see NYC, shop and play with us. I couldn't keep up with them shopping wise, so I sent them in to the city on the Subway and then they showed me all their cool new clothes when they got home. They also saw Phantom of the Opera, lots of the sites in NYC and had time to just hang out with us.

Everyone says Zanna looks just like Rachel(especially when Rach was Zanna's age)-- what do you think?
We introduced Megan to Vietnamese food and I think she liked it :) We went to a place in Queens that has some pretty amazing Pho, but not really the coolest atmosphere, so yummy though!
the kids were instantly attached to our new friend
The morning they flew out the kids had Pajama Day at school so we drove them to school and stopped at Dunkin' Donuts on the way...nothing like a Boston Creme to start the day off right!
Rachel has always been James' favortie cuddle friend... i love this picture.
saying goodbye at school
After dropping off the kids we headed to Priscilla of Boston to check out some wedding dresses. Rachel and Megan both work at a Bridal Store in Utah and these girls know their dresses!! They wanted to check out some style that you can't get in Utah and it was fun to see them in action :)
Thanks for coming out... we LOVED having you here and can't wait til' you visit us in CA!

(37 weeks pregnant)

We had a little last-minute bbq the other night and right when we starting cooking the wind picked up and the temperature dropped about 10 degrees. We moved the party inside after we ate and this is what happened :)

Mama takes on NYC!

Last year my mom came out to take care of me after my foot surgery so we didn't get to play much- I could barely even walk- so this year we made up for it and I had to work to keep up with this lady!! We walked, walked and walked some more...it was fabulous to have her all to ourselves for the week!
Our first day we headed up North to my favorite local grocer, grill and gelato/ice cream bar- Stew Leonard's
(look at my belly...it is from Zanna's view and it looks huge!)

We then headed to my other favorite place (which i have blogged about many times) but had to show my nature-loving mom...Bear Mountain
we even got to ride the old Carousel
the bears were out!
Dave had the next day off so we all headed to Brooklyn to walk the bridge and see the city...
World Trade Center Site
We then headed to Liberty Island to see Lady Liberty (something we've been wanting to do since we moved here)
Mom of course wanted to do the audio tour and we learned all about the Statue and it's coming to be. The kids had their own headsets and it was fun to hear them spouting off facts about the size and making of the Ms. Liberty
souvenirs were a must...i love this picture
After the Statue Dave took the kiddos home and we headed uptown for dinner and a show!
I was so excited for my mom to see Wicked (I saw it about 4 yrs. ago but was so happy to see it again before we move) and we both LOVED it. I almost cried a few times because of how talented the performers were....and probably because of my state of being :)
We headed to Times Square after the Show and went to the M&M's store and got frozen yogurt. We booked it to Penn Station and made our train by about 30 seconds-- what a great night out!
On Wednesday we went and got Pedicures and Manicures (you can get them both for $15 mon-wed) and then had naps. We had a fun night at the church learning how to make Pasteles with the ladies in my ward and it was fun to have them meet my mom and they all loved her, of course!
I sent Mom into the city to do a session at the Manhattan Temple and then the kids and I came into meet her and play in the city for the day. After picking her up we drove around until we found a Gyro cart on the street because a gyro is the best lunch around!
We had a BEAUTIFUL day in "the Park"
a new act-- the bronzed cowboy by the fountain

frisbee in Central Park
tulips in front of The Plaza Hotel
FAO Swartz
Mom played Chopsticks on The Big Piano and it was so fun to see her dancing around out there!
Dylan's Candy Bar--treats!
Crumbs Red Velvet Cupcake at Dylan's Candy Bar
NYC skyline from the rocks in Central Park
i think I win the big belly contest :)
Even Dave got wiped out trying to keep up with Mama M!

What an amazing week-- thanks Mom for coming out and spoiling us!
Oh, and by the way, she gave me foot massage EVERY NIGHT with her special lotion and my feet never even hurt after all that walking!

the 30 yr. old Easter Bunny

Check out my awesome Birthday Cake made by Dave and the kiddos...I asked for an ice cream cake and they delivered!

I was a little sad to be leaving my Twenties...but I when I think about where I am in life and the new adventures coming up I feel very exited and good about being 30.
I don't want to look old though, so if anyone has any great products or tips they love...pass them along!
this is not posed...I know it looks like it, but it's for real :)
My birthday, Easter and General Conference were all on the same day this year and it was a great day of celebrating, relaxing and eating. We watched the first session of Conference at the church and then had some friends over for birthday lunch, cake & ice cream....fun day!

The other big even of the day was the arrival of Grandma Mumford and we got right down to Easter Egg dying business the minute she walked in...
We had a great week with her...pictures on the next post!
we made Easter Egg cookies the week before
Primary Party Easter Egg hunt

this year the Easter Bunny brought James a bike....spoiled?
