What's wrong with this picture??

As I was getting some pictures ready to post I saw this one and thought it was so cute of the kids all ready for church.... and then I saw IT and just laughed out loud and can't stop laughing as I write this... (is that bad?)

so, I haven't felt like blogging much lately, but finally put some new pics up and will post some of our AWESOME trip in Utah soon. It was a hard adjustment to come back to NY this time for me, not because I don't like it here, but I think because it takes a lot more energy and work to be happy and social here- no fam, still making friends, more difficult to get places etc... I'm sure the fact that we didn't have any heat when we first got home and had to unpack in sweats and coats while drinking hot chocolate for 2 days didn't help either. They finally turned the heat back on (it was turned off because it got warm outside in the 50's!) and now the windows are open because it is too hot- that's what happens when you don't have a thermostat in your own apt.

Also, Dave and I got the chance to go into the city for a residency interview dinner last Monday and our so NICE friends, the Lee's, watched the kiddos. We car pooled with some people and decided to drive the Altima to save gas and a potential break-in (it is already dented, and has a lot of peeling paint- but we love it). Well, that was a bad choice. On the way home, in the rain, the car DIED while driving over a bridge in Brooklyn! Luckily we were almost to the end and Dave coasted nicely to a light ahead, but the car was totally dead. We tried to put gas in it, but that was obviously not the problem. As we were debating trying to push it to the nearest gas station- in the rain, the dark, and fast traffic- a tow truck pulled up and asked if we needed help- we decided to spare our lives and those of our friends that were so lucky to be with us and pay the $80 to Mooky- the tow-truck driver. He towed us about 1/4 mile and then we realized we didn't have cash to pay him. Luckily there was a Chase bank across the street and Mooky offered to drive Dave over there- well, his tow truck died 3 TIMES during this trip and I thought Mooky had taken Dave hostage because they were gone so long and I couldn't see them anywhere near the bank that was right across the street. It was a little frightening- and I was so happy to see him again live and well. Mooky was actually very nice and helpful, he just has a bad truck.
So, the car got fixed the next day- it was just a dead battery and we got out for only $150. Could have been worse. NY is full of adventures and I look forward to sharing more with you!
